Stefania Elfutina became the ambassador of the World Championship in RS:X class among juniors.
She is a bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympic games and three-time medalist of the European championship. Also she is supporting the World Championship, which will be held in St. Petersburg from 4 to 11 August.
«So even now I can’t believe that a competition of such a high level as the World Junior Championship will be held in Russia», – says Stefania Elfutina. «That is absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, I am not a junior anymore and I cannot participate. But it would be amazing to race in St. Petersburg and I hope that someday we will host an adult Championship. Sportsmen tried all the European spots so welcome here! It is a nice place!»
A famous windsurfer Stefania gave advice to young windsurfers who will come to St. Petersburg. «St.Petersburg is a fascinating city. If guys have some free time I recommend to take a walk around the city. It will help to focus before the competition. Also, I wish all participants not be afraid to set great goals.
Stefania shared a memory of her first World Junior Championship in 2013. In the Italian city of Civitavecchia Stefania took fourth place. «I was 16 years old. In Civitavecchia, I first realized that I can perform much better. Before this tournament, I just got up on RS:X, I had no experience. But every single day of the competition I performed much and much better. I was extremely happy with it. At that moment I realized that I like the Olympic class and the dream of winning the Olympics became real.»
Very soon we will publish the full version of the interview with Stefania Elfutina on the tournament website.
