Visas and Invitations
Visa applications:
Under Australia’s universal visa system, all visitors to Australia must have a valid visa to travel to and enter Australia (other than New Zealand passport holders who will normally be granted a Special Category visa on arrival, provided they meet health and character requirements; and permanent residents of Norfolk Island who may be granted a Permanent Resident of Norfolk Island visa on arrival).
There are many visa options available to people wishing to visit Australia. The appropriate visa option will depend, amongst other things, on the person’s purpose for visiting Australia.
Please refer to the Sports Information Sheet for guidance on the visa options that may be most suitable for your event participants.
Please also refer to the General information for visa applicants.
To request an Invitation:
- The people requesting an invitation need to enter the event as a sailor or support person.
- Send a copy of their passport and World Sailing ID to Ben Fels sail@sscbc.com.au
- If we need any further information we will contact you.
After we check this information we will issue a letter of invitation and register your information with the Department of Home Affairs International Event Coordination Network and this will assist your Visa Processing.
