We are getting enquiries for Training Camps prior to the Championship. We’d love to have you, but we also need to let you know about some of the timings of other events at the club. The first part of January will be very busy.
Up to the 24th of December, the club has strong capacity for you to train here.
From the 26th December until 14th January we will be operating in high peak mode. Our training Centre will be running at full capacity and our members will be using their club extensively; we even get a Marquee to fit everything in.
We have a very large corporate event on Friday 3rd January – Where the club is closed to members until 18:30 hrs and then we follow this up the next day with our biggest Couta Boat Race the Portsea Cup.
Monday 6th January to Wednesday 8th January it gets a little quieter.
9th January to 14th January we hold the Australian Youth Championships – 10 classes, running on 4 full race courses and over 200 boats and boards (that are a lot bigger than an RS:X) and that regatta will be using all of our club and member resources, we are not doing anything else in that period except one twilight Couta Boat race.
15th January and things will return to mid peak season – busy but not high peak. Lots of Junior training and lots of members enjoying the club, especially on weekends.
For the next two weeks, things will be tight but we can store boards and will have moorings available for Coach Boats.
During most of January, we will have secure board storage, but it will probably need to be stand up and with fin removed each night.
In the last week of January, we will start to move to standard storage of boards leaving the fin on.
On Tuesday 28th of January, the holiday makers will have returned to Melbourne to start the new school year and and a calm and serenity will descend upon the Peninsula.
So from the 15th January it will be a busy time, but there will be capacity to share with the rest of our members.
It will work. It will be sailors sharing with sailors and as time passes the congestion will ease and it will then become simpler and easier.
Training Memberships are available for $60 per week for each Competitor or Support Person. We have also created a special complimentary family membership for those traveling with their young children.
